N1 reports more than 350 layoffs at state-owned Srbija Kargo; two workers in Niš said they received termination notices on 3 August after 25 and 30 years of service. They say the criteria were not explained; those are employees’ accounts, not the company’s official explanation.

Works will run at the Surčin interchange from 5 August at 12:00 until 10 August at 09:00. In a Putevi Srbije notice relayed by Danas, the exit from the Niš/Čačak direction toward Surčin, the entry from Surčin toward Novi Sad/Belgrade, and the right lane of the Dobanovci–Surčin road will close; traffic will use the left lane under signal control.

At Freedom Square in Novi Sad, the Women for Change activist group held eight minutes of silence for eight women killed in Serbia since the start of the year. The action followed three femicides in the previous ten days; participants called for more effective protection of women and highlighted the circulation of footage of a killing near Bor on social media.

BVK plans water-network works in Vračar on 5 August from 08:30 to 18:00. Consumers in Kneginje Julije Street will be without water; a water tanker is promised for essential needs. The utility asks residents to prepare drinking and basic-use water in advance.
