NIS has filed a new US Treasury request for an operating license. Its current OFAC license and MOL's negotiation permission expire on 31 July; no decision on the new request has been announced.

Serbia's Finance Ministry is preparing a draft allowing temporary excise cuts above 20% when oil prices rise. It is under consultation, not in force; the current 20% reduction runs through 2 August.

Citing MUP data and UNEP research, N1 reports 2,217 Serbian landfill fires in 2025, about six daily. The report notes toxic organic-pollutant risks from smouldering waste.

Belgrade Waterworks announced planned works for Wednesday, 29 July: parts of Savski venac, Vračar and Zemun will temporarily lose water. This does not cover every address in the three municipalities; residents should check BVK's current list.

N1 and Danas report warm, mostly dry weather in Serbia on 28 July, up to 33°C. Kurir, citing an RHMZ forecast, says highs of 34–38°C are expected from Wednesday and locally around 40°C in early August. This is a forecast, not a warning.

Startup Ominimo says it closed a Series B round with EBRD's investment arm and reached a $1.6 billion valuation. It develops AI-enabled insurance products; it says most of its team works in Novi Sad and Belgrade.
