Residents of Niš’s Pantelej district are continuing protests and a petition against the current rail-bypass route. Serbian Railways Infrastructure has opened the first international prequalification tender to choose external supervision for the Paraćin–Trupale–Međurovo section of the future Belgrade–Niš line. The 76.2-km section is designed for speeds up to 200 km/h; applications are open until September 24 and the European Investment Bank will fund the supervision.
More than 70 civil-society organisations said the city Environmental Protection Secretariat's decision not to conduct an impact assessment for the Belgrade aquarium in Friendship Park is against the public interest. They seek to annul it on appeal and conduct the assessment.
Belgrade is carrying out works in the protection zone of a water network, closing and excavating parts of the carriageway and some parking spaces. Maruliceva, part of Milesevska, and Tomasa Jeza in Vracar are affected; depending on the location, restrictions run to late July or August 31.

Against the backdrop of a claimed 10,000 apartments sold and a record EUR 163.8m profit for 2025, the sources stress the gap between the project's scale and its public return; the state could receive about another RSD 1.55bn by the end of 2026.
N1 and Danas report that on the evening of July 5, the Zemun and New Belgrade citizens' assemblies protested at Usce against the aquarium project: they blocked the roundabout by the shopping center and then marched along Bulevar Nikole Tesle toward Hotel Jugoslavija under police escort. Activists say they have already filed an appeal against the preparatory-works permit issued by the Secretariat for Urbanism and are preparing a lawsuit against that decision.
