Because of the aquarium, the roundabout by the mall at Usce was blocked

N1 and Danas report that on the evening of July 5, the Zemun and New Belgrade citizens' assemblies protested at Usce against the aquarium project: they blocked the roundabout by the shopping center and then marched along Bulevar Nikole Tesle toward Hotel Jugoslavija under police escort. Activists say they have already filed an appeal against the preparatory-works permit issued by the Secretariat for Urbanism and are preparing a lawsuit against that decision.

Digging halted at Slobodiste memorial complex, but machinery remains

Water and soil spotted by the Usce aquarium site; residents call a July 5 protest

N1 reports that near the future aquarium construction site in Usce park, next to the former Hotel Jugoslavija site, a large amount of soil, a stream of water coming from the ground, a fenced hole, pipes, and a generator are visible, but no workers were on site. Igor Andjelic from Zbor Batajnica said activists will try to compare the tree map and check reports that two trees were removed; residents are being invited to a "Save Usce" protest at 18:00 on July 5 outside the Usce shopping center.

Schools receive instructions for student visits to EXPO 2027

The Education Ministry sent primary and secondary schools professional guidance for study visits to EXPO 2027 in Belgrade. According to N1/Beta and Kurir, the visits are planned for May 17-June 25, 2027, are not mandatory, require parent or legal-guardian consent, and transport and tickets are promised free for all pupils.

PowerChina requests a temporary permit for the Savska-Dunavska tunnel works

N1, citing eKapija, writes that PowerChina filed a request with Belgrade's urbanism secretariat for a temporary construction permit for the city tunnel between the Savska and Dunavska slopes, from the Faculty of Economics to Jovana Avakumovica Street. The request concerns works on the Palilula side of the future tunnel link; the tunnel is planned at around two kilometers, underground utilities must be relocated before boring, and the announced works timeline runs to 2030.

Residents left the commission session on the "Novi Sad na vodi" project

021 reports that on June 30, at a public session in the City Assembly, Novi Sad citizens' assemblies filed a request to recuse the entire Planning Commission, especially its president Radoje Dabetic, over suspected conflict of interest around the "Novi Sad na vodi" project. The commission replied that the City Assembly must decide on recusal, after which the public hearing continued, and by the end, according to 021, all residents had left the session.
