Novi Sad prepares for the Danube-side planning session; waterfront protection declaration left off agenda

On June 30 at 09:00, the Planning Commission will hold a public session in the City Assembly on the plan along Bulevar despota Stefana, which critics call "Novi Sad na vodi". Citizens' assemblies are calling residents who filed objections to gather outside the Assembly at 08:30 and use their right to attend; 021 also reports that on June 29 the City Assembly did not add Kreni-promeni's declaration on protecting Novi Sad's waterfront to the agenda.

Studentski grad and EXPO: dorm residents want a written guarantee

On June 26, N1 published reactions from Dom 2 residents at Studentski grad to the requirement that the F wing be vacated by April 16, 2027 for EXPO 2027. Studentski centar "Beograd" promises temporarily relocated students housing within its capacity under the same conditions, but students say the phrase "subject to capacity" is not a clear written guarantee, especially given dorm pressure and the timing of colloquiums and exams.

Beograd na vodi gets permit for complex on former BAS bus-station site

Danas reports that on June 23 Belgrade's Secretariat for Urbanism issued Beograd na vodi a permit for a residential and business complex on the former main BAS bus-station site in Karadjordjeva Street; the decision was published on June 24. The project includes five buildings with a shared garage, 629 apartments, 26 business premises, and 823 parking spaces, with estimated works valued at 9.4 billion dinars.

Belgrade adopts a new budget rebalance and several urban plans

On June 25, the Belgrade City Assembly adopted its second 2026 budget rebalance: the new budget amount is set at RSD 202,155,731,190, with 59 councilors voting in favor and the opposition not voting. The same session adopted several detailed regulation plans, including Mirijevo and the disputed plan for the Bajdina forest area in Zvezdara; Danas reports that residents from the "Mirijevo - zeleno i zdravo" initiative came to the session against the plan, and opposition councilors shielded activists after security moved in at the speaker's podium.

EXPO notice tells Studentski grad F-wing residents to vacate rooms by April 16, 2027

On June 24, N1, Danas, and 021 reported that students in the second block of Dom 2’s F wing at Studentski grad must vacate their rooms by April 16, 2027 because of EXPO 2027. A Studentski centar “Beograd” notice says the F wing is allocated to the exhibition from May 1 to August 30, 2027; Studentski centar later told N1 this is not eviction but temporary relocation of some students within its capacity under the same conditions.

Belgrade launches overhaul of 29 CAF trams and keeps new-procurement plan

Mayor Aleksandar Sapic said on June 23 that the city has opened procurement for a full overhaul of 29 Spanish CAF trams; if the process succeeds, Belgrade should receive another 30 new trams within two years, while the city is not abandoning a larger 80-100 tram procurement. In the same remarks he confirmed timelines for several city projects: the new Sava bridge remains in the spring-summer window, Gandijeva works are expected by spring-summer 2027, and the New Belgrade BAS station building is being built at 27,000 square meters.
