Serbia's parliament debates the budget rebalance and 58 other items

The extraordinary session starts with the 2026 budget rebalance, which raises the budget by 112.45 billion dinars to 2,527.15 billion. The agenda also includes laws on anti-corruption, expropriation, public debt, the Judicial Academy and electronic invoicing.

EPS worker dies at Drmno mine after high-voltage injury

EPS said an electrical supervisor suffered a severe high-voltage injury at the Drmno open-pit mine in Kostolac and died in a Požarevac hospital. The company is investigating the circumstances.

Socio-Economic Council fails to agree on the minimum wage

Danas reports that the Socio-Economic Council did not agree on the minimum wage; Serbia's government is due to make the final decision by 15 September.

RHMZ: Danube levels remain below low navigation marks

RHMZ's 18 August daily report says Danube, Sava, and Tisa levels near Titel will remain below low navigation levels in the coming days. Negative readings were recorded at Bezdan, Bogojevo, Novi Sad, and Prahovo.

The hydrometeorological service expects levels to fall by another 10–12 centimetres by Thursday. Low water is already complicating the DTD system and shipping; authorities are monitoring possible effects of water diversion in Hungary.
