Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić said he expects parliamentary elections in October or November, with a call for them in September or early October. This is his assessment of timing, not an already announced voting date.

On July 27, the National Assembly began its sitting on the no-confidence motion against Đuro Macut's government. Serbian Railways Infrastructure has opened the first international prequalification tender to choose external supervision for the Paraćin–Trupale–Međurovo section of the future Belgrade–Niš line. The 76.2-km section is designed for speeds up to 200 km/h; applications are open until September 24 and the European Investment Bank will fund the supervision.

Serbia’s government will fund 6,612 first-year places in professional and academic master’s programmes and 972 doctoral places in the 2026/27 academic year. The master’s total includes 73 places each for people with disabilities and members of the Roma community through affirmative measures.
