2. Serbia signs EDF and AFD partnership to prepare a nuclear programme

The Energy Ministry says Serbia's partnership with EDF and the French Development Agency will support staffing and studies for a nuclear programme. Minister Dubravka Đedović Handanović said the studies should inform a decision by mid-2027, while a first plant would only be possible after 2040.

4. Ministry provides free textbooks for about 96,000 pupils

The Education Ministry says about 96,000 primary-school pupils will receive free textbooks in 2026/27; 1.02 billion dinars covers 919,156 textbook units. Eligible groups include children in families receiving social assistance, pupils on individual programmes, children with disabilities and families with three or more children in education.

6. Several traffic restrictions are in force in Novi Sad and Sremski Karlovci

On July 30, part of Preradovićeva Street in Sremski Karlovci is closed from the Stražilovački Potok bridge to Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Street; nearby streets may also be affected, with the restriction announced until January 22, 2027. Works continue in Novi Sad at Telep, by Bulevar cara Lazara and elsewhere, with differing end dates.
