Apoteke Beograd promises to clear wage arrears in September

After meeting Serbia's president, the Opstanak union said Apoteke Beograd will receive operating funds in August and all wage arrears in September. Health insurance and pension-service records are to be restored on July 28, according to the union; the institution's final status remains undecided.

Emergency headquarters reviews historically low Danube levels

On July 28, the Republic Emergency Situations Headquarters reviewed a critical hydrological situation caused by historically low Danube levels. It recommended that Vode Vojvodine, Srbijavode and other bodies continue measures for the Danube–Tisa–Danube system and stable water supply, while intensifying monitoring of effects on energy and navigation.

Žabalj residents demand relocation or cancellation of a tyre-recycling plant

Rail-traffic restrictions introduced on Belgrade's Hajdin Bridge

Restrictions have been introduced on the Hajdin rail bridge on the Belgrade–Stara Pazova line because of identified safety risks. Citing Radar's reporting, N1 says freight trains are barred and passenger trains cannot pass one another on the bridge; infrastructure services notified operators after examining the structure.

Serbia confirms its first sheep-and-goat-pox outbreak of 2026 in Raška

The Agriculture Ministry confirmed Serbia’s first sheep-and-goat-pox outbreak of 2026 at one holding in the Raška municipality; three outbreaks were recorded in the Raška district in 2025. The ministry says veterinary services collected samples after changes were noticed in the animals, and all 67 sheep and 60 lambs at the holding were euthanized to contain the infection.
