Belgrade withdrew an integrated-security PPP proposal

Belgrade’s city assembly withdrew a public-private partnership proposal for an integrated security system because the competent commission’s opinion had not been submitted. Danas reports that opposition figures put the ten-year project’s cost at RSD 81 billion; no decision was adopted.

REM says the council can decide without an elected chair

REM spokesperson Olivera Zekić said the council may adopt decisions before electing a chair if members agree and the oldest member, Dubravka Valić Nedeljković, presides. The law and internal rules do not expressly regulate this situation; another attempt to elect a chair and deputy is scheduled for July 30.

Appeals court confirms reinstatement of a Kikinda heating-utility worker

The Novi Sad Appeals Court rejected the appeal by Kikinda's Toplana utility and upheld the finding that Bojan Sarić's dismissal was unlawful. The company must reinstate him and cover court costs.
