Subotica protesters over e-bike rules postpone road blockade

Participants in the sixth day of protest in Subotica temporarily called off the blockade of the junction by Hotel Patria after talks with the mayor and police administration chief. A group representative said national authorities were given until Monday, July 27, to consider a solution for registering vehicles bought as e-bikes.

BIRN reports satellite-navigation interference over Serbia

A BIRN investigation recorded more than 25 cases of satellite-navigation interference over Serbia. It says false signals grounded about ten drones during the May 23 Slavija protest, while pilots reported incorrect navigation data.

Dispute in Novi Sad Assembly follows an SNS councillor's remark

At the Novi Sad Assembly session, SNS councillor Cvija Vasić told the opposition, “You have killed enough Serbs.” The opposition sought her removal, but Assembly president Dina Vučinić refused and took the floor from councillor Mladen Cvijetić; the sitting was then paused for 30 minutes.

Serbia became the 69th country to join the Artemis Accords

Foreign Minister Marko Djuric signed the Artemis Accords at NASA headquarters in Washington. Serbia became the 69th participant; the accords set principles for peaceful and responsible space exploration.

European Commission flags pressure on justice and media problems in Serbia

The European Commission published its annual rule-of-law report, covering EU member states and four candidate countries: Serbia, Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Its Serbia chapter cites political pressure on courts and prosecutors, unfinished work from the previous anti-corruption plan, problems with REM's functioning, and worsening journalist safety.
