Deliblatska Sands wildfire is preliminarily estimated at about 2,500 hectares

The Deliblatska Sands fire, initially assessed at more than 300 hectares on 5 August, led to the evacuation of Čardak and Šumarak and an emergency declaration in part of Kovin municipality by 6 August. On 7 August, after easing in the morning, it reignited towards Šušara and part of the Čardak recreation-centre facilities burned. The preliminary estimate of about 2,500 hectares remains unfinalised.

Belgrade–Novi Sad trains resume after the fire

Rail traffic between Belgrade and Novi Sad resumed at about 02:00 on 31 July after an overnight halt caused by a field fire near the tracks. Srbijavoz said the disruption between Batajnica and Beška had ended; passengers reported evening delays in Nova Pazova and Beška.

On the evening of July 26, a car drove into a column of people during a Bačka Palanka protest walk supporting students. N1 reports eyewitness accounts of two people lightly injured; emergency services attended and traffic police intervened after the vehicle stopped.

Two people have died after the Starčevo explosion

One of the two seriously injured people died after the explosion in a Starčevo home's yard, bringing the death toll to two. Police and the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Pančevo continue to establish the circumstances and cause.

Appeals Court annuls the indictment confirmation for a third time in the canopy case

The Belgrade Appeals Court again annulled confirmation of the Belgrade Higher Public Prosecutor's indictment over the Novi Sad station canopy collapse that killed 16 people, returning the matter to the Belgrade Higher Court. This is separate from the Novi Sad proceeding, where the local Appeals Court recently confirmed an indictment.

Serbian MUP urges people not to burn grass: about 12,500 fires recorded this year

Serbia's Interior Ministry emergency sector told Kurir that more than 17,000 emergencies have been recorded this year, including about 12,500 fires and almost 7,500 in open areas. It urged people not to burn grass, low vegetation, or crop residue, and not to light fires in or at the edge of forests.
