From 17 August, insured people gain access to 18 more prescription medicines

Prime Minister Đuro Macut announced that, from 17 August, insured people in Serbia will be entitled to 18 more prescription medicines with state co-financing. The list includes 16 oral anticoagulants and two medicines for certain heart-failure patients. According to N1 and 021, the state will cover 70% of the anticoagulants’ price, reducing the co-payment to roughly RSD 600–1,100 per pack.

Novi Sad will carry out mosquito treatments over the weekend

On Saturday and Sunday evenings, Ciklonizacija will carry out ground mosquito treatments in Novi Sad areas on the Srem and Bačka sides. The company links the increased share of Asian tiger mosquitoes to tropical heat.

Serbia cuts co-payments for 769 prescription medicines from 1 August

Citing Finance Minister Siniša Mali, N1 reports that co-payments were reduced from 1 August for 769 prescription medicines — 99.6% of medicines dispensed with a co-payment; he said the patient share was narrowed from 10–90% to 10–50%. The measure is planned for at least 12 months, with a separate permanent mechanism for new prescription medicines due to start on 17 August.

RHMZ: heat peaks 5–8 August, locally up to 40°C

RHMZ warns of a prolonged heatwave, with highs of 35–38°C and locally up to 40°C; the hottest period is expected from 5 to 8 August. Tropical nights are forecast in Vojvodina and Belgrade; at 13:00 on 1 August, Sombor recorded 37°C, Novi Sad 36°C, and Belgrade 35°C.

Parts of Zvezdara will be without water from 08:00 to 20:00

Water will be shut off on 31 July while a new pipeline is put into service. The outage affects sections of Dimitrija Tucovića, Čingrijina, Preševska, Milana Rakića and eight more streets; the city will provide water tankers.
