N1 reports that water from pipes in the Radiofar settlement (Surčin) has confirmed hexavalent chromium above the permitted level. The outlet says the Health Ministry ordered Surčin municipality to urgently ensure hygienically safe water; residents have relied on wells rather than the city network for decades.
The government sent parliament proposed amendments to the property-rights recording and registration law known as “Svoj na svome”, N1 and 021 report, citing Nedeljnik. The proposal—not current law—would change fees for rural family houses over 400 m², offer new options to apartment buyers in buildings with developer debts, and tighten payment and registration rules.
At talks between Volodymyr Zelensky and Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade on 8 August, the sides signed a memorandum on animal health and food safety. Kragujevac uses about 55 million litres of drinking water a day in summer, but the local utility and city authorities do not plan restrictions, N1 reports. The Gruža reservoir is about 42% full and Grošnica Lake 80% full; upgraded wells on the Morava provide 100–150 litres per second.
