On July 28, the Republic Emergency Situations Headquarters reviewed a critical hydrological situation caused by historically low Danube levels. It recommended that Vode Vojvodine, Srbijavode and other bodies continue measures for the Danube–Tisa–Danube system and stable water supply, while intensifying monitoring of effects on energy and navigation.
Žabalj held a protest on July 26 against a planned waste-tyre recycling plant. N1 reports that the facility would have capacity of up to 72 tonnes a day and that its industrial-zone site is about 800 metres from the nearest homes; residents demand that the project be moved or cancelled.

The Agriculture Ministry confirmed Serbia’s first sheep-and-goat-pox outbreak of 2026 at one holding in the Raška municipality; three outbreaks were recorded in the Raška district in 2025. The ministry says veterinary services collected samples after changes were noticed in the animals, and all 67 sheep and 60 lambs at the holding were euthanized to contain the infection.
Family and Demography Minister Jelena Žarić Kovačević said that 889 children in Serbia are receiving timely support from the Alimony Fund. She said 54,209,260 dinars have been paid since the state became the payment guarantor; the government relayed the figures.
