FBI declines comment on the 'sound cannon' case; Radic released after searches

By late June 22, N1 reported that the FBI declined to comment on its alleged role in reviewing the 'sound cannon' case, while Danas and N1 carried the VJT statement: searches involving military analyst Aleksandar Radic were conducted on a preliminary-proceedings judge's order over suspicion of calling for a violent change of the constitutional order or another ex officio offence. Later, lawyer Stefan Corda told N1 that the searches ended at about 21:00, prosecutors did not seek detention, and Radic was free. ANEM called the searches, the summons to Beta editor Vojkan Kostic, and the targeting of Radar journalist Milan Radonjic unacceptable pressure on journalists and sources.

Darko Veskovic Prika killed in Kumodraz as police search for gunman

On the evening of June 22, N1, Kurir, and Novosti reported a shooting in a cafe in Kumodraz 2 / Vozdovac: one man was killed and another was wounded and taken to VMA. N1 and Novosti identify the killed man as Darko Veskovic, known as Prika; N1, citing Nova.rs, adds that a first-instance 15-year sentence annulled two months earlier concerned the 2018 killing of Blazo Djurovic. Kurir writes that the attacker fled, police launched the Vihor 3 operation, and investigators are establishing the circumstances and motive.

Vucic again defends the FSB version and targets N1/Nova in the 'sound cannon' dispute

After Novosti's morning account of the Pink, Prva, and Informer appearance, N1 and Danas on June 21 carried a new part of the same line: Aleksandar Vucic again thanked the FSB for its report, said the Russian service would not sign a false opinion, and said he would not sue N1 and Nova, though he called their work a 'history of dishonor.' The card continues yesterday's dispute over prosecutors' version of an alleged simulation of LRAD use at the March 15, 2025 protest.

Car of Dinko Gruhonjic's son vandalized in Novi Sad as media groups demand family protection

N1, Danas, and 021 reported on June 21 that the previous evening the car of David Gruhonjic, son of journalist and professor Dinko Gruhonjic, was smashed and badly damaged in Novi Sad's Liman area. Witnesses said three younger men wearing balaclavas attacked the vehicle in a parking lot; police came to the scene, David and Dinko Gruhonjic gave statements along with witnesses, and ANEM and NDNV demanded an urgent investigation and protection for the family.

Platforma za evropsku Srbiju writes to the EU over different judicial-law texts

SSP, SRCE, PSG, and Solidarnost, grouped in Platforma za evropsku Srbiju, said on June 21 that they sent EU institutions a letter alleging an SNS attempt to mislead the Venice Commission: they claim one text of the judicial laws was sent to the Commission and another to parliament. Danas also carries the Justice Ministry's response: Minister Nenad Vujic denies that the texts differ and says the only difference is that the parliamentary text is in Serbian.

VJT's 'sound cannon simulation' claim opens a new dispute over evidence

On June 20, Justice Minister Nenad Vujic said allegations about a supposed student 'sound cannon simulation' contain elements of terrorism, while adding that prosecutors decide the legal qualification. In the evening Aleksandar Vucic said the authorities had not 'shot' at people but that others had 'shot at him,' backed VJT, and cited a denial of LRAD use, while N1 and Danas carry legal objections from Dragoljub Popovic, Nikola Lakic, and Kreni-Promeni, including a 600,000-signature demand for an independent inquiry.
