Vucic announces measures package: pensioner payments, aid for benefit recipients and cheaper medicines

On June 29 Aleksandar Vucic presented a package of measures worth more than 600 million euros: pensioners were promised one-off payments of 35,000, 27,500 or 20,000 dinars depending on pension level, social-assistance recipients 25,000 dinars, families receiving child allowance 25,000 dinars per child, and pensioners with income up to 80,000 dinars 30,000 tourism vouchers worth 10,000 dinars each. N1 and Danas highlighted the pension package's cost, the end-September deadline and medicine co-payment cuts of 10-40%, while Kurir and Novosti framed the package as major state aid and added Vucic's claim that it would be paid without new debt.

Macut and Porfirije sign funding contract for final works on Saint Sava Temple

Prime Minister Djuro Macut and Patriarch Porfirije signed a contract on the morning of June 28 in the crypt of Saint Sava Temple to finance final works. N1 and Danas report that the deal is worth more than 6 million euros; Vucic said at the signing that 88 million euros had been invested over 12 years and 94.5 million euros including the new contract.

Beograd na vodi gets permit for complex on former BAS bus-station site

Danas reports that on June 23 Belgrade's Secretariat for Urbanism issued Beograd na vodi a permit for a residential and business complex on the former main BAS bus-station site in Karadjordjeva Street; the decision was published on June 24. The project includes five buildings with a shared garage, 629 apartments, 26 business premises, and 823 parking spaces, with estimated works valued at 9.4 billion dinars.

Serbia's petrol up 2 dinars, diesel stays at 217

Danas reports that from 15:00 on June 26 until 15:00 on July 3, a liter of eurodiesel in Serbia costs up to 217 dinars and a liter of Europremium BMB petrol 193 dinars. Diesel is unchanged from last week, while petrol is 2 dinars higher.

Morava Corridor section Adrani-Preljina opens

Novosti reports that on June 26 at 17:00 a Morava Corridor motorway section opens from the Adrani interchange near Kraljevo to the Preljina interchange near Cacak. The 28.71 km section connects Kraljevo with the Milos Veliki motorway at Preljina and should shorten travel between two economic centers in the region.

BIRN: Vucic's German adviser and the Jadar project remained linked through an institutional partnership

On June 25, BIRN and Spiegel published an investigation into Jerg Heskens, who has worked alongside Aleksandar Vucic since 2013 and has been paid through a German GIZ partnership since 2020. According to the documents, cooperation with German structures focused on the Jadar lithium project even after the formal 2022 halt: Berlin allocated about EUR 4.9 million to support the project, and a 2025 report referred to construction planned for summer 2026 and extraction in late 2028 or early 2029.
