RHMZ warns of unstable weather: showers, thunder, and hail through Thursday
N1 reports that the Republic Hydrometeorological Service issued a severe-weather warning for June 23: Serbia will be variably cloudy and unstable, with showers and thunderstorms in places. According to RHMZ, around midday and in the afternoon showers may locally be stronger and accompanied by short-lived hail, with higher probability in central, eastern, and southeastern Serbia. The north should see longer sunny intervals and rarer short showers, while local storms and showers are also forecast for June 24 and 25.
A tropical night increased emergency calls: a doctor advises how to cope with heat
N1 carries comments by Dr Ivana Stefanovic of emergency services: humid weather, high temperatures, and sudden weather changes are especially hard on people with chronic illness, and overnight temperatures did not fall below 20 degrees, making it a tropical night. She said calls from cardiovascular patients increased, including a 17-year-old patient with acute coronary syndrome; temperature is a risk factor, usually as a contributing factor. Stefanovic advises avoiding the strongest sun from about 11:00 to 15-16:00, especially for children and older people, drinking enough fluids, cooling down, and using air conditioning when overheating is a risk so the heart can rest at night.
