Studentski grad and EXPO: students want a written guarantee, not promises

On June 26, N1 published reactions from Dom 2 residents at Studentski grad to the requirement that the F wing be vacated by April 16, 2027 for EXPO 2027. Studentski centar "Beograd" promises temporarily relocated students housing within its capacity under the same conditions, but students say the phrase "subject to capacity" is not a clear written guarantee, especially given dorm pressure and the timing of colloquiums and exams.

Students on relocation from Studenjak because of EXPO: "We want a clear guarantee, not promises"

(Studenti o premeštanju iz Studenjaka zbog EXPO-a: "Tražimo jasnu garanciju, ne obećanja”)

N1 writes that a Studentski centar "Beograd" notice requires residents of Dom II's F wing at Studentski grad to vacate places by April 16, 2027, because the block is allocated to the EXPO 2027 specialized exhibition from May 1 to August 30, 2027. Studentski centar says this is not eviction but temporary relocation of some students, and promises housing within its capacity under the same conditions. Residents Nadja Petrovic and Maja tell N1 this does not look like a guarantee: Studentski grad is a first-category dorm, dormitories are already under pressure, students wait months for transfers or places, and the move could coincide with colloquiums and exams. They also say the information appeared as the last item on page seven of the competition document rather than as a separately highlighted notice.
