Published: July 2, 2026 at 11:20 AM. Updated: July 2, 2026 at 03:03 PM.

GSP Centar union president Ivan Bankovic told N1 that no official invitation to a meeting with Aleksandar Vucic had arrived by publication time, even though July 2 is the deadline Vucic named for responding to public-transport workers' demands. The June 24 demands remain the same: stop the PPP tender, do not transfer four trolleybus lines to a private operator, buy at least 90 autonomous-capable trolleybuses and 300 buses, and guarantee that GSP lines will no longer be handed to private operators.

The Lido pontoon bridge is open from July 1

The Serbian Army has again installed the pontoon bridge across the Danube from Zemun's bank to Lido beach on Great War Island. The 345-meter bridge, with a 20-ton capacity, is open to pedestrians and city services from July 1; if water levels allow, it should remain in place until the end of August. Later, N1 from Lido added a practical opening-season detail: there is no water at taps and showers, and swarms of flies are visible above the water.
