Car of Dinko Gruhonjic's son vandalized in Novi Sad as media groups demand family protection

N1, Danas, and 021 reported on June 21 that the previous evening the car of David Gruhonjic, son of journalist and professor Dinko Gruhonjic, was smashed and badly damaged in Novi Sad's Liman area. Witnesses said three younger men wearing balaclavas attacked the vehicle in a parking lot; police came to the scene, David and Dinko Gruhonjic gave statements along with witnesses, and ANEM and NDNV demanded an urgent investigation and protection for the family.

The student gathering at Novi Sad's turbo roundabout ended a few minutes after 19:00 with the message "Good night Novi Sad, good morning Serbia." 021 and Danas report that speeches focused on journalists' position, police abuse and police reform, the voter roll, and election conditions; N1 had earlier reported the stage, closed approaches, and student first-aid teams on duty because of the heat.

Citizens' assemblies invited residents on June 20 from 14:30 to 16:30 to sign objections to the Novi Sad na vodi project at the MZ Liman 3 stand in Limanski Park. 021 recalls that the Planning Commission session was moved to June 30 at 09:00 after several thousand objections, while Mayor Zarko Micin refers to 5,000-6,000 objections that he considers unfounded.

021 writes that the 2019 Smart Plan promised to overhaul Novi Sad transport but has been only partly fulfilled seven years later: JGSP received 100 CNG buses and 10 electric buses, while director Milan Balac says another 30-50 vehicles are needed. The city does not plan extra bus lanes because of parking and costs, ridership fell by 2.448 million passengers in 2025, and a new intelligent-transport strategy is expected by the end of 2026.
