Emergency declared in two Sremska Mitrovica villages over ASF; about 700 pigs culled

An emergency has been declared in part of the Sremska Mitrovica area after African swine fever appeared in the villages of Noćaj and Salaš Noćajski. Local authorities say about 700 animals have already been culled and urge farmers to mark pigs and report suspected cases to veterinary services.

External-supervision tender opens for the Belgrade–Niš fast rail

Serbian Railways Infrastructure has opened the first international prequalification tender to choose external supervision for the Paraćin–Trupale–Međurovo section of the future Belgrade–Niš line. The 76.2-km section is designed for speeds up to 200 km/h; applications are open until September 24 and the European Investment Bank will fund the supervision.

Banks approved 79% of requests for credit relief

The National Bank of Serbia said banks processed relief requests for 2,321 loans with about RSD 2.3bn in total debt in the first quarter. Banks accepted measures in 79% of cases; loss of employment was the most common reason given.

GSP's tender for 60 new trolleybuses received no valid bids

According to the Centre for Local Self-Government, the tender opening for 60 GSP Beograd trolleybuses produced one incomplete bid without secured leasing, leaving no valid bids. This is the organisation's statement, not a final notice from the operator.

A 625-million-dinar tender opens for Đerdap 3 documentation

The Ministry of Mining and Energy has opened procurement for planning and part of the technical documentation for the Đerdap 3 pumped-storage plant. The estimated value is 625 million dinars, applications close on August 20, and the package includes a preliminary feasibility study, spatial plan, and strategic environmental assessment.
