After a filing from Veselin Milic's defense lawyer, prosecutors ordered the Second Basic Prosecutor's Office to identify unknown persons who allegedly threatened him in Belgrade district jail. The prison administration told N1/Danas it strictly follows safety procedures for all detainees, while Danas recalls that on June 12 the court extended Milic's custody until July 12 in the failure-to-report-a-crime-and-perpetrator branch.

N1 reports that after VJT said it ordered identification of persons allegedly threatening suspect Veselin Milic in Belgrade district jail, the prison administration said it cares for the safety of all persons deprived of liberty. The administration stressed that the Belgrade district jail is the country's largest detention unit, with the largest intake and release volume, so special attention is paid to strict observance of safety procedures. N1 recalls that Milic was arrested with 13 others in the Aleksandar Nesovic killing at restaurant "27" in Senjak and that part of the complaint against him for assisting the perpetrator after the crime was dismissed.

Danas writes that after receiving a defense filing, VJT reported alleged threats to former Belgrade police chief Veselin Milic in Belgrade district jail and ordered the Second Basic Prosecutor's Office to form a case. The goal is to identify unknown persons and prosecute them under the law because of grounds to suspect the offence of endangering safety. Danas adds that VJT is conducting proceedings against suspect S.V. and others over the killing of A.N. at restaurant "27" in Senjak, while Milic is under the failure-to-report-a-crime-and-perpetrator branch; by a Higher Court decision of June 12, his custody was extended until July 12, 2026.
