Ammonia leak from a cold-storage facility in Guca stopped

Around 00:50 on June 28, ammonia leaked at Prvomajska 9 in Guca; MUP said seven people were evacuated, four were taken to the hospital in Cacak, ammonia transfer was completed, and the firefighter-rescue intervention ended at 06:55. Some users received the ammonia warning through the "Pronadji me" system

N1 carries a MUP statement on an alert-delivery error. The request to activate the emergency-alert system was received at 02:17, the warning was activated at 02:27, and it was sent to operators. Yettel and A1 sent it only for the Guca area, while some Telekom Srbija users received it by mistake through "Pronadji me".

Danas, citing RTS and MUP, writes that the leak at one of the cold-storage safety valves was stopped. Residents received an SMS warning overnight advising them to close windows and doors, place wet cloths over nose and mouth, and protect their airways. Danas also cites MUP data on seven evacuees, four patients in Cacak, and the partial "Pronadji me" message error.

Guca residents describe the night of the ammonia leak

Kurir/RINA reports residents' accounts from Prvomajska Street. Zarko Paunovic said a sharp smell woke the family around 01:00; at the gate it was no longer possible to breathe, so they sheltered in the basement and then left. Lucani municipality president Milija Milenkovic said firefighters and ambulance crews were already at the scene, a safety valve likely blew because of high pressure, seven people reported to the health center, four were sent to hospital, and no one was life-threateningly injured.
