N1 recalls that at about 15:40 in a cafe in Kumodraz 2 an unidentified man opened fire, wounding one person and killing another. Citing Nova.rs, the outlet writes that Veskovic was one of two defendants in the case over the killing of Blazo Djurovic outside his home in Dusanovac in March 2018; the Belgrade Higher Court sentenced him to 15 years in prison, but the Court of Appeal annulled that verdict and ordered a retrial two months before the current killing.

According to the outlet's initial information, an armed attacker entered the venue and opened fire; police deployed strong forces, secured the area, began the scene investigation, are searching for the attacker, and are establishing the motive and circumstances.
