N1/Radio Kim published the accounts of Damjan Otasevic and Stefan Tatar, detained after the memorial service at Gazimestan: they allege psychological and physical pressure, a EUR 700 fine, and a three-year ban from Kosovo. Novosti/Tanjug carries a statement by Milos Terzic, deputy director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija: he says medical documentation will be used and expects a more concrete international response; the article also says 36 Serbs were detained after the June 28 memorial service.

U.S. Embassy says Serbia-U.S. relations have entered a new era

At the U.S. Embassy reception in Belgrade marking 250 years of American independence, charge d'affaires Aleksandar Titolo said Serbia and the United States had entered a new era of bilateral relations. Serbia starts issuing a new burgundy passport for RSD 4,500

Kurir writes that from July 1 Serbian citizens are being issued a new burgundy passport, with an updated coat of arms, 32 differently designed pages, and added protection. Valid old passports do not need immediate replacement: they remain in use until expiry, while the new document goes to people whose old passport expires; issuance costs RSD 4,500.

US extends NIS, JANAF, and MOL licenses until July 31

After the morning NIS extension, two practical follow-ups appeared: JANAF received an OFAC license to fulfill contractual obligations and deliver oil to NIS until July 31, and MOL received a license to continue talks with Gazprom/Gazprom Neft on buying the majority Russian stake. This preserves the Pancevo refinery's operation and fuel supply, but the ownership deal still has no public outcome.

Ponos summoned to UKP over sound-cannon claims

Srbija centar leader Zdravko Ponos completed an informational interview at the Criminal Police Directorate on July 1 over his posts about the alleged use of a sound cannon at the March 15, 2025 protest. Afterward he told N1 he was asked about his motives for posting, the basis for his conclusion, and communication with Aleksandar Radic; N1 also carried the Vojvodina Regional Medical Chamber's statement offering legal and institutional support to doctors if prosecutors pursue medical staff who helped citizens after March 15.

Gazimestan detainees fined 700 euros each, with deportation for some foreign nationals

N1 and Novosti report on July 1 that the Basic Court in Pristina found 36 people detained on June 28 at Gazimestan after Vidovdan guilty and fined each 700 euros. For people without Kosovo citizenship or documents, the reports also cite deportation and a three-year ban on entering Kosovo; according to N1, documents will be returned after the fine is paid.
