Palilula Market roof glass cracks; vendors temporarily relocated

Heat cracked glass in a roof window at Palilula Market near the Ilije Garašanina and Dobre Mitrovića entrance. The area was fenced off, replacement glass was ordered, and vendors beneath the window were temporarily moved; JKP Beogradske pijace says it is safe to be inside.

Two metro tunnel-boring machines shipped from China to Belgrade

The city said two tunnel-boring machines for Belgrade metro line 1 are leaving China. They are expected to reach Europe by October and then travel by the Danube to Belgrade; after assembly, they are to begin excavating about 11 km of first-phase tunnels.

In Zemun, routes 45 and 612 will be diverted from 17 August

Because of paving and improvements on Geteova Street in Zemun, its section between Atanasija Pulje and Slovenska streets will close from 17 to 31 August. Buses 45 and 612 will run in both directions via Rade Končara, Prvomajska, Geteova and Krajiška.

West Nile virus detected in a mosquito in Čukarica

The genome of West Nile virus was detected in a Culex mosquito caught near the Železnik marshalling yard in Čukarica. The city ecology service will continue daily monitoring and treatment; residents are advised to use repellent and nets and avoid being outdoors from 7 pm to midnight.

A water outage in Banovo Brdo is scheduled until 22:00 on 10 August

BVK lists repairs until 22:00 near the junction of Beogradskog bataljona and Nedeljka Čabrinovića in Banovo Brdo (Čukarica). Nearby streets may also be affected; a tanker is stationed at Beogradskog bataljona and Požeška.

Radiofar water has hexavalent chromium above the permitted level

N1 reports that water from pipes in the Radiofar settlement (Surčin) has confirmed hexavalent chromium above the permitted level. The outlet says the Health Ministry ordered Surčin municipality to urgently ensure hygienically safe water; residents have relied on wells rather than the city network for decades.
