Temporary public-transport route and stop changes in Belgrade

Until August 15, 2026, buses 72 and night service 72N use a diversion near Bežanijska kosa; check your direction and stop before travelling. The city notice divides the works into two phases, but the diversion routes for 72 and 72N remain the same throughout the period beginning July 7.

What it is

A temporary arrangement is a service change during works, a closure, or another restriction. The city notice should state the period, street section, affected lines, and direction. A detour may use different streets, and a stop may be moved or temporarily withdrawn; this does not mean that the line's regular route has changed permanently.

Why these notices are easy to misread

One notice can describe several consecutive phases and later be extended. In the notice for works in Nedeljka Gvozdenovića Street, phase Ia runs from July 7 to 25, 2026 and covers routes 70, 74, 75, and ADA5 as well as 72 and 72N. Phase Ib is scheduled from July 26 through August 15; the city lists the same diversion routes for 72 and 72N in both directions. Lists of routes and stops should therefore be checked against the dates of the particular phase.

Current status

On July 23, phase Ia of works near Bežanijska kosa is in effect, linked to construction of stormwater and sewage infrastructure. It runs through July 25; routes 70, 74, 75, and ADA5 use temporary termini because the bus loop is inaccessible. The city sends 72 via Tošin bunar, Vojvođanska, and Surčinska streets, while night service 72N uses a longer route through New Belgrade. Phase Ib begins on July 26; the 72 and 72N routes remain the same, and the overall works period has been extended through August 15.

Why it matters

For a trip, the route number and neighbourhood are not enough: direction, period, and the particular stop also matter. A bus may be diverted in both directions, as 72 and 72N are in this case, but a change can also apply in only one direction or to one stop. Check those details so that you do not wait where the bus is temporarily not stopping.

What to watch next

Before travelling, open the newest dated post in the city's “Saobraćaj i prevoz” section. Compare the date, route number, direction, and your stop. A new post may announce the end of works, an extension, the next phase, or a changed list of routes and stops.
